Sell and redeem gift cards

Issue gift cards, sell them online, and let customers spend them on bookings or at the till.

Issue a gift card yourself

  1. Step 1: Open Gift cards and click Issue gift card.
  2. Step 2: Enter the Amount.
  3. Step 3: Leave Code blank to have one made for you, or type your own (at least 4 characters).
  4. Step 4: Optionally add the recipient and purchaser details, a Message and an Expires date.
  5. Step 5: Click Issue gift card, then give the code to the customer.

Tip: Tick Email it to the recipient to send the code to the recipient's email address. Otherwise pass the code on yourself.

Sell gift cards on your booking page

Customers can buy gift cards online and pay by card. You need Stripe connected first.

  1. Step 1: On Gift cards, find Sell gift cards online.
  2. Step 2: Tick Allow online gift card sales.
  3. Step 3: Under Preset amounts, click Add amount for each amount you want to offer (up to 5).
  4. Step 4: Optionally tick Allow custom amount and set a Minimum and Maximum.
  5. Step 5: Under Expiry, tick Never expires or choose how many months the card lasts.
  6. Step 6: Click Save settings.
  • A Gift cards tab appears in the booking window on your booking page.
  • Once the customer pays, the code is emailed to the recipient, with a copy to the buyer.

Redeem a gift card

  • Online, customers enter the code under Have a coupon or gift card? when booking.
  • At the till, type it into Gift-card code before you click Charge.
  • If the price is less than the balance, the rest stays on the card for next time.

Gift card statuses

Active
Can be spent.
Redeemed
The balance has all been spent.
Void
Switched off (you are asked to confirm). Use Reactivate to turn it back on.
Awaiting payment
Bought online and not paid for yet. It cannot be spent until payment goes through.

Tip: Click the arrow next to a card to see its history: when it was issued, sold and spent.
