Ring up a sale at the till
Sell services, products and gift cards at the counter, with coupons and gift card redemption.
Make a sale
- Step 1: Open Point of sale.
- Step 2: Tap the services and products the customer is paying for. Each one is added to the Ticket on the right. Tap again to add another, or use the + and - buttons.
- Step 3: To sell a gift card, click Sell gift card, enter the Amount and click Add to cart.
- Step 4: Optionally search for the Customer, or add a new one. Leave it blank for a walk-in.
- Step 5: If the customer has a discount code, type it into Coupon code.
- Step 6: If they are paying with a gift card, type its code into Gift-card code.
- Step 7: Choose the Payment method: Cash, Card / terminal, Card (online) or Bank transfer.
- Step 8: Add a Note if you want, then click Charge.
- Step 9: You will see Sale complete with the final total. Click New sale for the next customer.
Good to know: The till records the sale; it does not take the payment. Take the money with your card machine or in cash as normal, then click Charge.
How the total is worked out
- Step 1: Bookwick adds up the items.
- Step 2: It takes off the coupon discount.
- Step 3: It takes off the gift card balance (up to what is left to pay). Any unused balance stays on the card.
- Step 4: What is left is the total to collect.
Good to know
- Selling a product lowers its stock (if you track stock).
- New gift cards get a 12-character code automatically. Find it on the Gift cards page to give to the customer.
- To sell several gift cards of the same amount, raise the quantity on the line. Each one gets its own code.
- To refund or void a sale afterwards, see Refund a booking or a counter sale.
